U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SUES TO ENSURE “RELIGIOUS FREEDOM”

At least that’s what they say.  The U. S. Department of Justice, the renowned guardians of religious freedom, have filed a lawsuit against Rutherford County, Tennessee in an attempt to force them to issue an occupancy permit for a huge 53,000 square foot mosque recently built there despite a court ordering otherwise.  The U. S. DOJ wants it issued before the start of Ramadan which is either today or tomorrow, depending on which Muslim cleric you listen to.

Let’s start with a little background information.

The man behind its construction, Essam Fathy, told a whole series of lies about how long construction would take.  He claimed years, seemingly to garner sympathy to realize a dream, and that just getting the site leveled and the parking lot paved would take one or two years alone.  Instead, construction was very rapid.

In an ABC news ARTICLE from two years ago, Imam Ossama Bahloul said in response to community opposition, “It’s not a huge mosque as they are saying.”  Apparently, he didn’t consider 53,000 square feet huge.
Pictured_Above_Phase_1_of_the_53000_square_foot_mega_mosque_in_Murfreesboro_TN

There was a most definite conflict of interest in that Fathy had financial dealings with the Mayor of Murfreesboro, the county seat of Rutherford County.  The Mayor told the county commissioners they had to they had to vote “yes” on the proposed mosque construction or they would all get sued (SOURCE 1).

A stop work order was issued by a court stating construction work had to cease because the county had failed to give the public adequate notice of the plans.  With their usual contempt for American law and American authorities, construction was ramped up to a very rapid rate.  Did any of the authorities do anything to enforce the court’s order? No, of course not. Same thing happened in Brooklyn, New York when a mega-mosque was built on a quiet  residential street.  Court order to stop meant continue with construction.  When it comes to the Muslims, it’s the old unwritten “do not oppose” policy once again.

Now, a former FBI agent, John Guandolo, whose job was to brief the FBI on terrorism and radical Islamic terrorism provides this information:

“- the Murfreesboro Imam is a recognized leader and “jurist” in the Muslim Brotherhood worldwide. He taught “Dawah” in Europe, and was at the top of his class at Al Azhar University, Cairo (4 out of 200) – the most prestigious and authoritative school of Islamic Jurisprudence in the world, and the oldest.

–  The ICM Bylaws asserting primacy of Islamic law were copied from other “Islamic Centers.” Muslim Brotherhood Bylaws and the El Barasse Explanatory Memorandum define “Islamic Centers” or mosques as beehives for activities and supplies for “battalions,” and at some point the beginning and center of violence.

–  The ICM “reading list” of the Imam began with Yousef Qaradawi, who issued a “fatwah” calling for killing of U.S. troops and civilians in Iraq.

–  The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro is a “front” organization for the Muslim Brotherhood posing a security threat to Murfreesboro citizens, who are under- educated on the topic of the threat. Both they and the County Commission should have been informed of this threat to enable public participation in the ICM site plan approval meeting.”

There is also the question of who exactly is financing the building of this mosque or why the small town of Murfreesboro, Tennessee was chosen for the site.  There are only 200-300 Muslim families in the area, and only forty-five active paying members of the mosque, the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro.  No one seems to know from where the money is coming, nor does anyone know why an area with such a small Islamic constituency was chosen.(SOURCE 3)  You can be it is symbolic in some way.  Mosques are built on carefully chosen sites as a general rule to assert Islamic supremacy.  This particular mosque is built right next door to a Baptist church.

Back to the U. S. Department of Justice’s lawsuit.  Despite the imam being tied to the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD, and other serious questions about the ICM, a department memo was quoted as saying the allegations accusing the ICM being connected to a terrorist organization are “unfounded.”  Really.  The Muslim Brotherhood is not a terrorist organization.  OK.  Glad we were able to clear that up. (SOURCE 4)

Statements from the U.S. DOJ get even more ludicrous. Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez of their Civil Rights Division said, “Our nation was founded on bedrock principles of religious liberty.  The Department of Justice will continue to vigorously enforce civil rights laws that protect religious freedom.  The U. S. attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, Jerry Martin, said, “The United States Attorney’s Office will zealously protect every citizen’s right to worship and assemble.” ”  If that’s the case Mr. Perez and Mr. Martin, why didn’t the U.S. Department of Justice rush to Phoenix, Arizona and file a lawsuit against the city where Michael Salman was prosecuted, convicted, sentenced to sixty days in jail, two years probation, and a $12,000 fine for a having a Bible study on his own property?

Mr. Martin and Mr. Perez apparently don’t understand their own doctrine of the mythical separation of church and state.  No matter how it’s justified, no matter how you look at it, the U.S. Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a religious organization.  Just where is the hue and cry of the liberal left wingnuts screaming about “separation of church and state?  Where is the Freedom from Religion Foundation and the ACLU?”

One last thought:  If this were a Christian church, does anyone really so delusional to believe the U. S. Department of Justice would have raced in to file a lawsuit to force a local government to permit occupancy of the building in time for a religious observance or holiday?  Not a chance.

FIRST DEARBORN, NOW TORONTO

I just saw this post by Debbie Schlussel and our loss of freedom continues in the name of appeasing the Muslims. After all, we have to be VERY sure we are sensitive to their religious beliefs and customs, but it’s OK to offend and publicly ridicule Christans.  Here is her POST:

It’s Over: Toronto Police Help Muslim Mob Punch Man w/ Camera

This is in Canada, but if you think it can’t, won’t, or hasn’t already happened here in the U.S., you need to get your head out of the sand.  Apparently, you cannot take pictures in a public place anymore .  .  . when Muslims are involved.  Yup, when Muslims are involved, all democracy, all freedoms, all rights go out the window . . . because, hey, we might offend them.

David Menzies Assaulted By Muslims Who Are Defended by Dhimmi Toronto Cops
David Menzies, a Toronto freelance writer, writes this excellent and frightening Toronto Sun column about how a Muslim woman in a hijab punched him for daring to take a photo (and not of her).  The nerve of him. But it gets worse. The dhimmi Toronto Police defend the Muslim woman for punching him and trying to destroy his camera. Oh, and the Arab Muslim mob acts like they are in Saudi Arabia’s “Chop Chop Square” and it’s jihad time.
What constitutes a physical assault in Toronto these days? . . . I learned firsthand on Sunday, a fist in the face doesn’t necessarily constitute assault in our increasingly culturally sensitive Toronto.
The details: I was at Yonge-Dundas Square with my nine-year-old son. We ate pizza. We drank bubble tea. And I used my new Canon camera to take photos of this neon shrine.
Suddenly, a woman wearing a hijab ran toward me. She was part of a group that included two women wearing full face-covering burkas. She was screaming: “We are Muslim! You do not take pictures of us!” (Odd. I can’t find the “no photos” rule in the Qur’an.)
I informed the lady I was in a public square in a democracy. I can actually take pictures of whomever I please.
And then: Ka-pow! Her fist collided with my face. Worse, she almost knocked my new camera from my hands.
My son and I were then surrounded by a mob of about 20 people, many of whom were speaking Arabic. One kept demanding I surrender my camera to him.
It was surreal. Was I in Toronto — or Riyadh?
It could be Dearbornistan or Minneapolis.
I spotted a group of bicycle-mounted police officers. I burst through the mob with my son and made a beeline towards them. I told a Toronto Police officer what had happened and I wanted to press assault charges.
Better yet, a man and a woman came forward as eyewitnesses.
The 50-something couple, originally from Syria, told the police they had observed the entire affair and my allegations were true. The couple said they understood Arabic and knew what the mob was saying.
Alas, my Spidey Senses started to tingle when I overheard the questions being asked of the witnesses. “Was it a closed-fist punch or an open hand? Was it the front or the back of the hand?”
Huh? Physical contact had been made. Why did severity matter?
After the officer took my statement, he went over to the offending woman. Another constable was inexplicably miffed I was (legally) taking photos in the first place. The irony: Just above our heads a Toronto Police Service sphere was videotaping the activities.
The officer interrogated the woman. She was still hysterical. Good. The constable would encounter firsthand what I had been forced to deal with earlier.
The cop walked back to me. No charges would be laid, he said, because he believed the woman’s story — namely, she was merely trying to knock the camera out of my hands.
Got that? Apparently, attempted property damage is OK. If a face gets in the way of a would-be vandalizing fist… hey, accidents happen.
The Syrian eyewitnesses were speechless. I continued to plead my case.
Toronto Police cruisers are emblazoned with the slogan, “To serve and protect”. But increasingly, the unofficial slogan seems closer to, “F.I.D.O.” (“Forget It; Drive On.”)
The fact we have Islamists living amongst us who despise western values isn’t news. But surely you can’t just sock someone in the mouth.
Well, apparently you can — as long as the intent of the aggressor was merely to inflict property damage.
Happy Ramadan, everyone! And say good-bye, North America. I used to say we were 10 or 20 years behind Europe when it comes to collapsing under the weight of Islam and Muslims.
But we’re getting there faster than that. Time to get fitted for a keffiyeh.
This is yet one more fine example of the “religion of peace” that is enjoying more and more privileges the rest of free society does not enjoy.  Can you imagine what it would have been like if a Christian had done this very same thing in the name of his/her religious beliefs?  There wouldn’t have been the excuse-making or glossing over and making assault OK.  That Christian would have been under the jail.  Laws seem to increasingly not apply to Muslims.
Those who think they are “tolerant” will have the same loss of rights and be subjected to the same treatment.  This is something the liberal left doesn’t understand.  There is no tolerance for liberalism or any other ideology under Muslim rule, only Islam.

CHRISTIAN NOW HAVE NO FOURTH AMENDMENT RIGHTS . . .

. . . at least in Dearborn, Michigan.  Here is a well written post from the blog ANSWERING MUSLIMS.  For background on this, see my post, THE TRAMPLING OF FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS.  Here’s the story:

Sharia Judge Michael J. Callahan Nullifies the Fourth Amendment Rights of Christians in Michigan

Michigan’s war against the Constitutional rights of Christians has reached its peak.

In every state in this country, with one exception, a police officer cannot seize a person or her property without probable cause (a reasonable belief that a person has committed a crime).

Today, Judge Michael J. Callahan ruled that the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution does not apply to Christians in the state of Michigan. If a Christian visits Michigan, she may be detained, seized, arrested, and thrown in jail based on no evidence whatsoever.

At last year’s Arab Festival in Dearborn, Corporal Brian Kapanowski approached Negeen Mayel and ordered her to turn off her video camera. Since Negeen hadn’t been accused of committing any crime, she was under no legal obligation to obey his order (and, let’s face it, he was only ordering her to stop filming so she wouldn’t catch our unlawful arrests on tape). When Negeen didn’t immediately turn off her camera, and instead asked why she was being questioned, Corporal Kapanowski grabbed her, seized her camera (which police then kept for more than three weeks), dragged her out of the tent, arrested her, threw her in jail, and charged her with two crimes.

Obviously, in any court that honors the Constitutional rights of citizens, Kapanowski would be in trouble. It turns out, however, that Dearborn courts have as much contempt for the Constitution as Dearborn police. Before the trial even began, Dearborn Judge Mark Somers ruled that Corporal Kapanowski had probable cause to arrest Negeen, even though she hadn’t been accused of any criminal activity.

Do not miss the implications of this ruling. According to Judge Somers, in the City of Dearborn, police have probable cause to arrest Christians, even if the Christians haven’t been accused of a crime. This means that any Dearborn police officer may arrest any Christian, simply because he feels like it.

Since we realized we weren’t going to get justice in Dearborn, we were hopeful that the appeals court would have more respect for our fundamental rights as American citizens. Our hopes were dashed today when Judge Callahan ruled that police may indeed arrest a Christian who hasn’t been accused of a crime.

Amazingly, people act like we’re crazy when we say that Dearborn is being influenced by Sharia. But the facts speak for themselves. Christians are rapidly becoming second-class citizens in Michigan, and anyone who speaks up is quickly labeled an “Islamophobe.” The saddest part of this is that non-Muslims are the ones who are doing the difficult work of destroying the Constitution. Mayor John O’Reilly, City Prosecutors William “Sharia Bill” DeBiasi and Debra Walling, Corporal Kapanowski, Sergeant Mrowka, Chief Haddad, Judge Somers, and now Judge Callahan are all trying desperately to undermine the U.S. Constitution.

And practically no one seems to care.

Many Dearborn residents are offended when people say that Sharia is taking hold in their city. But until the City of Dearborn starts showing some degree of respect for the rights of non-Muslims, until Christians are free to discuss their faith without being arrested, until the Fourth Amendment actually protects teenage girls from illegal search and seizure, the accusations are going to continue.

(NOTE: I have referred to the “Constitutional rights of Christians.” Since certain readers love to misrepresent and distort what I say, let me go ahead and state clearly that I do not believe, never have believed, and never will believe that only Christians should have Constitutional rights. All U.S. citizens, regardless of race or religion, are protected by the Constitution. Indeed, I would be just as opposed to police violating the civil rights of a Muslim or an atheist as I would a Christian. But in this case, it’s the rights of Christians that are being violated, so that’s the topic of the post.)

AUSTRIAN MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT MAKES A STAND

Pretty much enough said.  The Turkish ambassador could pass very easily for a Washington politician.  We have the same lack of reaction to Christians being murdered every day by Muslims for no other reason than they are Christians.  Too bad we don’t have anyone in the U.S. that has Mr. Stadler’s backbone to tell the truth.  But then, the words “government” and “truth” in the same sentence IS an oxymoron.

NO SEPARATION OF MOSQUE AND STATE IN MASSACHUSETTS

In late May 2010, Wellesley, Massachusetts public middle school kids were taken on a field trip to the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center.  This is a Saudi-funded “mega-mosque” operated by the Muslim American Society of Boston.  When the students arrived, they were separated according to gender and asked to join the Muslim adults in their prayer.  Several of the male students did so.

So, just where is the outcry from the liberal left? Where is the ACLU on this one?  It’s the old double-standard once again.  If this school had taken the students to a Christian church, the ACLU would have been there filing one of their agenda-pushing lawsuits in about five minutes.  We would have been hearing the progressives screaming “separation of church and state” ad infinitum on all of the leftist media outlets.

Obviously, the leftist lawsuit-filing wingnuts don’t apply the same standards to all religion when it comes to the mythical separation of church and state.  Maybe a “mosque” isn’t a “church”, and the left doesn’t consider Islam a religion.

U.S. JOINS ANOTHER ANTI-ISRAEL ORGANIZATION

It just never stops with this administration. First, it was the United Nations Human Rights Council (formerly Human Rights Commission). That title couldn’t be farther from the truth. Just take a look at the nations that are part of it. Nations with some of the worst human rights records on Earth: Cuba, China, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Iran (Women’s Rights Committee). Yeah, Iran. They’re all about women’s rights for sure. The whole world certainly knows about that one. Within the first year of its inception, there were forty condemnations issued against various countries for alleged human rights abuses by the Human Rights Council. Thirty-three of them have been against Israel. Click HERE for an article by Joel Brinkley of the Global Post for more information.

Now, President Obama has announced that the United States will be joining still another anti-Israel organization, the ALLIANCE OF CIVILIZATIONS. In an opinion ARTICLE on Fox News, eighteen of the representatives throws the organization very much towards the Islamic nations. When formed in 2005, the representatives were from nations such as Egypt, Qatar, Tunisia, Morocco, Pakistan, and the former president of Iran. The U.S. had two representatives on the panel, but none from Israel. Membership has since grown considerably. Click HERE to see the list. You will quickly see some of the biggest human rights violators and pro-Muslim countries in the world on this list including Sudan where people are being slaughtered by the government for being Christians who refuse to convert to Islam. It sure doesn’t sound much like the UNAOC’s MISSION STATEMENT at all.

“The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) is an initiative of the UN Secretary-General which aims to improve understanding and cooperative relations among nations and peoples across cultures and religions, and to help counter the forces that fuel polarization and extremism.”

Only a basic understanding of Islam is needed to know that the Islamic countries are not the least bit interested in “cooperative relations among nations and peoples across cultures and religions.” Here is some INFORMATION from THE RELIGION OF PEACE website about Islamic beliefs concerning non-Muslims. Sudan is one of the most active examples of this in practice today.

US Joins Pro-Muslim ‘Alliance of Civilizations’

by Hana Levi Julian
Follow Israel news on Twitter and Facebook.

The Obama administration has announced the United States will join the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, another openly anti-Israel organization.

The group was created in 2006 to find ways to bridge the growing divide between Muslim and Western societies – a goal wholeheartedly embraced by President Barack Obama, who has redirected American foreign policy in pursuit of the same goal.

The U.S. decision is also meant to support the Alliance goal of “improved understanding and cooperative relations among nations and peoples,” the statement said. The White House announcement stated that the move is intended to realize Obama’s “vision of active U.S. engagement with other nations and international organizations,” a goal sometimes pursued, noted National Review Online columnist Brett D. Schaefer last Thursday, “even when there is little or no chance that doing so will advance U.S. interests.”

However, the Alliance has been anything but cooperative when it comes to improving understanding of issues relating to the security of Israel’s and United States’ civilians.

The group claimed in its first report in 2006 that global tensions were driven primarily by the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The same report referred to “a perception among Muslim societies of unjust aggression stemming from the West” in a discussion relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States by the international Al Qaeda terrorist group.

US Feared it Would be Anti-Israel – in 2006
At the time, the U.S. boycotted the group, expressing concerns that it would become a forum for bashing both Israel and the United States, in a manner similar to that of the U.N. Human Rights Council.

However, Obama administration officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said those concerns have since been addressed.

Since Obama took office a year ago, he has worked hard to reach out to the Islamic community of nations in a series of gestures that make it clear he is bending over backwards to strengthen ties with the Muslim world.

Since his speech from Cairo last June, Obama has reached out to Iran and Syria, restoring full diplomatic relations with Damascus and returning an ambassador to the Syrian capital. The U.S. has also joined the anti-Israel U.N. Human Rights Commission. Both these moves are reversals of prior Bush administration decisions. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

This isn’t surprising coming from an overtly anti-Israel administration, from President Obama’s poor treatment of Benjamin Netanyahu to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s reversal of her position concerning Jerusalem (she now supports a divided Jerusalem when she supposedly was against it in the past).

There is too much pandering to terrorist nations and organizations by this administration. Terrorists do not negotiate and see those who do as weak. Becoming a part of such organizations only serves to further weaken America’s position with its allies and the world.
